How do we assist teachers as they implement new technology skills?
Answer - Teachers must be supported in various ways to ensure that the standards are met. Computer assistants, librarians, integration specialists, the Instructional Technology Coordinator, peers, and students will be available to work directly with teachers. Alternative assessments for students, use of mobile labs, presentation systems, and Internet resources offer additional ways to assist teachers. The district will continue to explore innovative staff development opportunities to provide teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge. All teachers in the district are expected to meet these standards directly or indirectly utilizing these available resources. Student demonstration of technological aptitude will reveal the extent to which teachers meet these expectations.
Action Plan - BHBL will establish a technology facilitator team. This team will consist of advanced users who have met the District’s qualifications. BHBL will establish a technology “buddy” program which allows for the development of basic technology skills and self-developed classroom projects.
