How do we establish communication across grade levels
to guarantee consistent instruction that builds from one level to the next?
Answer - The District Technology Committee has developed comprehensive, clearly articulated K-12 Technology Integration Outcomes that specify the skill sets to be mastered by each grade and building level.
The MILE {Milestones for Improving Learning and Education} Guide for 21st Century Skills, outlines six elements of 21st century learning:
Emphasize core subjects.
Emphasize learning skills.
Use 21st century tools to develop learning skills.
Teach and learn in a 21st century context.
Teach and learn new 21st century content.
Use 21st century assessments that measure core subjects and 21st century skills.
Action Plan - Integrate technologies as tools to assist with the curriculum development, instructional management, and assessment practices. Invest time in an ongoing process of collegial dialogue, collaborative learning, and exploration of new and/or proven instructional strategies. BHBL will maintain a Web Portal to help implement the Technology Framework. This portal will centralize and organize BHBL and global resources.
