When should staff development take place?

How do we embed staff development into daily/weekly schedules?

Answer - The district’s focus on teams requires us to make concerted efforts to create time for team-oriented learning opportunities during the regular school day/year.  This is an ongoing process that cannot be satisfied by a one-time training in a particular technology.  It needs to become part of the culture and should be encouraged and modeled for others.

Action Plan - Building Administrators and K12 Supervisors will provide the means at staff and department meetings to showcase and update building initiatives. Technology expectations should be an integral part of the APR process.  Model School workshops and online courses will be available throughout the school year, as well as embedded professional staff development opportunities, using turnkey trainers, BOCES support, the professional staff development coordinator, and Tech Rangers.
