Current Reading Activities

Making a reading quilt: Teachers are given quilt pieces in various colors. The pieces measure 8 1\2" by 4 1\4" and are folded vertically. On the top, the student writes the title of the book and decorates appropriately and colorfully since this section will be on the face of the quilt. Inside the fold the student writes a short summary and evaluation of the book. The backing of the quilt is butcher paper taped together to measure eight feet square. The center panel was created using WordArt and Microsoft Word. Squares are pasted to the backing as students turn them in.
