Spring 2003 Grants
Jennifer Adams - High School Biology TeacherThe money would
be applied toward the purchase of a freezer chest to be
housed in
the new science wing near the biology rooms. The freezer would
be
used to store fresh frozen specimens and supplies for a variety
of
biology labs.
There has been a switch from using preserved
specimens to fresh, larger
specimens. Currently there are 344
students taking biology.

Diane Kilfoile and Marty Pangburn, Pashley ElementaryThe
money will be used to initiate an "Advantage Press" program to
assist
with difficult discipline situations. . "When students are
detained
in the office during recess we will have them complete a
packet addressing their situation. It is an excellent discipline
tool that focuses on the specific misbehavior." "We typically have
3-6 students a week referred to the office, which adds up to 120-224
students per year who might use the
program."
